The Amateur Weather Observers is a British knitwear brand. The name stems from our values: British makers and sustainably sourced British yarns are at the core of the brand. British people love to talk about the weather; TAWO’s collections seek inspiration from the UK’s erratic climate and diverse landscapes.
Each garment is knitted by hand in the United Kingdom by Laura, the founder, and a team of knitters passionate about rejuvenating the craft.
Garment Care
All our garments are hand knitted with 100% British wool.
Wool has self cleaning capabilities. In most scenarios, you should be able to air out your garment by laying it flat in a well ventilated area. We recommend you don’t hang your knitwear as this can stretch it.
Should you need to wash your garment, hand wash with lukewarm water and a gentle wool wash. Press the excess water out gently with a towel and air dry flat. Reshape the garment whilst damp. Sometimes weaved in ends may start to show after washing and reshaping- do not worry, your jumper will not unravel. These may disappear again with wear as the wool fibres begin to relax or they can be weaved back in with a tapestry needle.

Repairs
We want you to love your garment for a lifetime. Where possible we offer a repair service free of charge. Please email hello@amateurweatherobservers.com (currently UK customers only).
Returns Policy
As everything is made to order and due to the time consuming production process, we offer an exchange only policy where we can offer sizing adjustments. However, please email hello@amateurweatherobservers.com with any sizing queries to avoid uneccessary returns. It is also possible to make garments to your specification.
Goods must be returned within 14 days from receiving the garment, in resellable condition with all tags. The buyer is responsible for return postage.
Occasionally there will be ‘ready to ship’ garments available. These are returnable for any reason within 14 days of receipt.
We are unable to accept returns/exchanges on custom sizing garments.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout. Once an order has been shipped, you will be emailed with a tracking number.
The Amateur Weather Observers do not take responsibility for import duties or tax charges.

XS: equivalent to UK size 6-8
S: equivalent to UK size 8-10
M: equivalent to UK size 12-14
L: equivalent to UK size 16- 18
